Start of Season Details

Most of the coaching team are making a late escape to the sun, so here is all the info for the upcoming start of the season (with correct dates this time I hope). We haven't had many training sessions, but we wanted to give the boys a proper break over the summer. There is a long season ahead, and plenty of time for the boys to come to terms with tackling and the new rules.

Saturday 28th August. Family fun day at Underhill Park
. This Saturday, the club has organised an event for the junior section on the eve of the Cracker 7s tournament. Unfortunately we could not organise a match for the Wildcats, but everyone is welcome to come along for the fun of it. There will be BBQ, games, and you can support some of the other age-groups who will be playing matches. The event will take place from 2-5 in the afternoon. Just to be clear, because all the coaches will be away, there is no formal event for the Wildcats, but everyone is welcome to go along and enjoy. Members of the first XV will run the BBQ and offer coaching clinics, kicking competition, tug of war. The Vikings will be playing Gowerton in a tag match at about 3:00. And there will be star guests from the Ospreys.

Wednesday 1st September: NO training. (Coaches soaking up the sun).

Sunday 5th September: Match vs Loughor. At home, Bishopston sports field. Meet at 10:00 on the dot for a little practice before the match.

Remember the new rules: tackling (below the waist), 5 man scrums, No rucks, No mauls, No ripping. Defences can only tackle, and must not contest the ball directly.

New Season Dawning

We will be back in action soon, with rugby training starting next week.
New season, New rules, Same time, Same place.
See you Wednesday 18th August, 4:30, Underhill Park.

Many apologies for all those who turned up last week on the 11th Aug - I am afraid I put the wrong date on my post. There was not supposed to be any training - and it WILL start on the 18th. Very daft I know. Not a good start to my admin season.
