Forecast is good, so Walk in ON! A few hardy travellers will attempt the summit, any others still welcome. Details below.
Training resumes at our regular time of Fri 5:00 in prep for our first match at Morriston on Sunday
We are finishing off the summer with a team walk up Pen Y Fan, the highest mountain in the south.
Click HERE for the route we will be taking. It should take about 2.5 hours total, and although uphill, it is all on good wide paths. We will start the walk just after 11, so bring a picnic to eat at the summit. The forecast for Thursday is good, but we will not go if it changes to bad weather. However, even if it is sunny it is important to bring a jumper and a waterproof, just in case the weather changes quickly.
Any brothers, sisters, dogs, hangers-on, are welcome.
Meeting place: the car park in the woods off the A470, just before the Storey Arms (NOT the Storey Arms car park itself). For SATNAV, use the Storey Arms postcode: LD3 8NL. Drive out of Swansea towards Neath on the Heads of the Valleys Road (A465). At the Hirwaun roundabout (just before Aberdare) take the left turn on the A4059. After about 10 miles, join the A470 to Brecon at the reservoir. The Car Park is then about 1 mile up the road, on the right hand side, a few hundred metres BEFORE the Storey Arms. It should take about 1 hour to get there.
Meeting Time: 11:00 Thursday 30th August
Any questions, text Mike.
