Bonymaen 4 Mumbles 9

Sixteen players braved the cold and wind this morning for the trip to the misty summits of Bonymaen. Before the match the boys kept warm by playing in the pools, and the match got underway after an excellent minute silence in honour of Remembrance Sunday. With Bonymaen lacking a few players we had to resort to first and second half teams, and roll the substitutes on an off. Owen got things under way with a poachers try, followed by Ike, Jacob and Duncan. Bony proved difficult to tag in the open spaces, and the first half finished 2-4. The second half opened with a quick try for Luca and after a Bony fight-back the tagging finally started to kick in and Mumbles ran in tries through Sam, Ethan, Luke and Dylan. Handshakes all round and back to the clubhouse for chips and beans. Special thanks to the Bonymaen coach, who had his  hands full with two age-groups this morning and did a superb job as referee. Also thanks to all the Wildcats, their behaviour during the important minute silence was excellent. Patience was also shown during the game, it can of course be frustrating for the boys to only get one or two runs. But there are plenty of games ahead for them to show their skills, and they are gradually learning the importance of the team game.

Wednesday training still to be decided. We do NOT have astroturf this week (pitch unavailable). If we have training at the park the details will be posted on Monday (after I have seen the weather forecast).
